25 Lug Sharing My Mission at Mindvalley University
I am feeling so blessed right now. While I have been busy moving houses, I’ve also had the chance to travel to Croatia and deliver workshops at Mindvalley University on July 8th-9th and July 17th-19th.
In case you’re not familiar with it, Mindvalley University is a 30-day deep dive into topics that truly fuel your growth. The global campus takes place in a different city every year. This year, it was in Pula, Croatia.
It was truly an honour to be invited as an expert to deliver life-changing workshops at Mindvalley University.
The experience was so wonderful, I just wanted to share with you a few highlights from my trip!
Driving Down Memory Lane
This isn’t my first time in Croatia. The last time I was in Croatia was about 27 years ago, and it wasn’t a pleasant experience!
Back then, I was still a model. I was actually in the middle of my transition at that time. Though I had a successful career, I was secretly harbouring feelings of discontentment with my glamorous life as a model that wasn’t aligned with who I really am.
And as if it was a sign, while I was in Croatia, I got into the worst motorcycle accident of my life. I ended up spending most of the time in Croatia in a hospital!
So, while I was driving to Croatia just a few weeks ago, those horrific images of the accident came back to me. But at the same time, it was like walking down memory lane. As scenes of the beautiful countryside of Croatia flew past me, I was led back to that part of me where I was a model in a completely different world, still trying to figure out how to fulfill my true mission in life.
And I couldn’t help but reflect about how I am back on the streets of Croatia, living a whole new life, following my passions, and fulfilling my true mission! It felt like I had come full circle.
And as if the universe wanted to remind me of how far I’ve come since the last time I was in Croatia, I actually stumbled upon my own book, A Whole New Life, translated into Croatian, in a bookstore at Pula. And of course, it was also wonderful to share this whole experience with my husband and Sir Caligola, our beloved dog who joined me on the trip.
Sharing My Mission
At Mindvalley University, I delivered a workshop on “Speed Coaching” to a group of talented coaches driven to make a difference in the world. One of the things I was really happy to share with them was how to coach someone through making changes without triggering resistance. (By the way, the key is in making small, consistent changes that open the path for bigger transformations!)
Another session I held was leading an evening meditation session to discover your life’s mission and really infuse that with the work you do.
My favorite part of the workshops I led in Croatia is called Breaking Resistance and it comes from my “A Whole New Life” method. In that workshop, the audience participates in the Arrow Breaking Exercise. This exercise is based on a Fijian tribe initiation ritual, where adolescents take hunting arrows and point the arrow tip to their throat while the other end of the arrow is placed against a wooden board.
The arrow represents fear, limiting beliefs, and resistance. While the board represents the transformation we want and the manifestation of our dreams. With a special breathing exercise, they break the arrow and get to the other side.
This ritual is an external action that helps create a very powerful internal shift towards your vision.
I am so happy to let you know that people liked it so much, that the organizers invited me to run another meditation session in the week’s closing ceremony!
Being Part of A Bright Future
My experience at Mindvalley University was truly uplifting because I felt like I was part of a bright future where we can all be empowered to transform the world and make it a better place, not just for human beings but for all living species that we share this planet with.
It was truly fun to meet people from all over the world who are on this path towards the betterment of our world and are courageously developing their inner selves to make it happen.
This whole experience has both humbled me and reminded me that hope for the future is truly bright when we come together to support each other.
To all the amazing people I met during this experience, thank you for welcoming me to be part of building this bright future together.
